After the peace of 1814, Lord Castlereagh established
a travelers' club in London to
"form a point of re-union for gentlemen
who have traveled abroad and to afford them the
opportunity of inviting as honorary visitors the
principal members of all the foreign missions and
travelers of distinction."
In that spirit, we establish this Web site for the
reunion of today's travelers of distinction. We offer
you, our honored visitors, a place to gather and
exchange, to plan and prepare, and return after your
extraordinary journeys.

"As the Spanish proverb says, 'He who
would bring home the wealth of the Indies,
must carry the wealth of the Indies with
him.' So it is in travelling; a man must
carry knowledge with him, if he would bring
home knowledge."
-- Samuel Johnson
